Bichon Frise Description: The Bichon Frise is a small, friendly, playful, white "powder puff" of a dog. They love people and need their company to be happy. They love to be the center of attention and are always eager to please. Overall, these dogs are "love balls," good with children and other pets. An excellent indoor family dog.

Bichpoo Description: The Bichpoo is a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Poodle. These small dogs make excellent companions. It is also known as a Poochon, as the name has not yet become standardized.

Cockapoo Description: The Cockapoo is relatively new American breed, a cross between the American Cocker Spaniel and Poodle. Their coats are curly and dense, the tail is long and close. Cockapoos do well living in apartments but are fairly active -- a small yard for romping is good for them. They prefer cool climates. The Cockapoo is good with children and other dogs, easy to obedience train. This breed is recognized by the Continental Kennel Club but not by the American Kennel Club which requires many years of breeding to meet their guidelines.

Chinese Crested Description: Chinese Crested are of two types. One is the Hairless with hair only at its head and feet; the other is the Powderpuff which is completely covered with hair. This small, fine-boned, elegant and graceful dog breed makes a loving companion, is playful and entertaining. They love food and will leap about in anticipation of a tiny bite. They are not aggressive towards children or other animals and do best living in a home, not a kennel.

Japanese Chin Description: Japanese Chins are lively, tiny dogs, dainty in appearance. They love to cavort and play. With their compact carriage and thick, lengthy coat, their movement is stylish, lifting feet high when in action, and carrying their tails proudly curved or plumed over the back. Formerly called the Japanese Spaniel, thedog's name was changed to the Japanese Chin in 1977. A gentle and affectionate breed, they are meticulously clean and very easy to house break. They are affectionate, playful lap dogs and make excellent companions.

Maltese Description: The tiny Maltese is known as "ye ancient dogge of Malta," which for more than 28 centuries has been an aristocrat of the canine world. The coat requires daily brushing to keep its elegant appearance. Despite his size the Maltese is without fear. The Maltese is a good choice for people who live in small apartments because of his size, but for the same reason it is not a good candidate for those with small children, unless the owner can provide constant supervision. He is among the gentlest mannered of all little dogs, yet he is lively and playful as well as vigorous.

Weight: under 7 pounds, with from 4 to 6 pounds preferred.

Colors: pure white, light tan or lemon on the ears is permissible, but not desirable.

Miniature Poodle Description: The Miniature Poodle is an intelligent and elegant-appearing dog, squarely built, well-proportioned, moving soundly and carrying himself proudly. Active and eager to learn, they love to participate in family activities. Steady, smart and loyal, owners can rely on these dogs for obedience, shows, tricks, hunting and retrieving. Poodles are happy, good tempered dogs and make good family pets. Asthma sufferers appreciate their woolly coats.

Shih Tzu Description: "Shih Tzu" means lion dog in Chinese and are so named because of their long, flowing mane-like coats. Though they might display an arrogant personality,they are actually quite playful and gentle. Adapting well to any family situation, they enjoy a cuddle in your lap, doing tricks, or fetching a small ball.
